Silt and Sketch
The spade strikes a buried wooden box, spilling charcoal sketches into the sudden light where they lie like fossilized trilobites trapped in shale. These discarded drawings resemble remnants of a former existence that no longer fits the current shape of life. As sunlight hits the matte soot-black blocks, each line offers a choice between treating these relics as debris to be cleared or as blueprints for reconstruction. Amidst the drifting motes, a quiet stillness settles over the garden, leaving only the weight of what might still be built.
